Inauguration & Cultural Commencement The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by an inspiring cultural dance performance by differently-abled women and girls. Shri Ajay Prakash (President, Deep Welfare Organization) and Dr. Indira Mishra (President, Educational Forum for Women Justice and Social Welfare) formally welcomed and honored the dignitaries with shawls and floral bouquets. Sunil Bharala – Former Minister of State, Government of Uttar Pradesh Dr. Indira Mishra – President, Educational Forum for Women Justice & Social Welfare Shri Ajay Prakash – President, Deep Welfare Organization Smt. Neerja Pal – Advocate, Supreme Court of India Dr. Monika Gupta – Professor, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi Shri M.M. Singh – President, Matrix Society Shri Anuj Agrawal – Editor-in-Chief, Dialogue India Key Deliberations & Takeaways Throughout the technical sessions, the panel addressed the persistent structural challenges surrounding gender-based violence and discrimination in India: Impact on National Development: Speakers emphasized that gender inequality and violence remain significant barriers to India's broader social, educational, and economic progress. Systemic Interventions: The discussions underscored the need for robust policy implementation, multi-stakeholder monitoring, legal literacy, and continuous community-level awareness. Grassroots Support Systems: Panelists highlighted the vital role of medical, legal, and institutional safety nets in providing timely rehabilitation and justice to survivors. The seminar reaffirmed a shared commitment to building an inclusive, equitable society where women and girls live with dignity, security, and equal opportunity, free from discrimination. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Shri Ajay Prakash and Dr. Indira Mishra, expressing appreciation to all dignitaries, delegates, and participants for their contributions.

On 19th November 2010, Deep Welfare Organisation, in collaboration with the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR), organized a full-day consultative workshop titled "Protect Girl Child & Promote Adoptions" at the India International Centre (IIC Annexe), Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi. Organized on the birth anniversary of Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, the workshop served as a state-level platform bringing together policymakers, statutory bodies, legal experts, academics, and grassroots practitioners to address the dual crises of declining child sex ratios and procedural bottlenecks in institutional adoption.

National Seminar: "Protect Girl Child Through Health & Education"

In Indian society, deeply entrenched patriarchal norms continue to affect reproductive attitudes and child-rearing practices. Pervasive social practices, such as dowry, have historically reinforced the perception of daughters as financial liabilities, giving rise to cultural notions like ‘Paraya Dhan’ for girls versus ‘Budhape ki Lathi’ for sons.
